Cancer Patients - New Exemption From Prescription Charges
As from 1st April 2009, patients who are undergoing the following treatments are entitled to medical exemption from NHS prescription charges:

HPV vaccination for girls between 12-18 years of age
Human papilloma virus (HPV) is the name of a family of viruses that affect the skin and the moist membranes that line your
body (such as those found in the cervix). There are over 100 types of HPV and 13 of them are known to cause cancer.The HPV vaccination will be introduced as part of the national immunisation programme. A three year catch up campaign has started that offers the HPV vaccine to girls who are between 12-18 years of age.

The Practice teaches medical students from the Hull & York Medical School, based at York University.
If you have a long term health condition and are willing to be approached to be involved in the teaching
of medical students please contact the Practice.
Remember to allow 2 working days before collecting your prescriptions.
