Appointments Online

There is now a simple and easy way to book appointments. It is especially useful during those times that the telephone lines are busy or the Practice is closed.

Appointments Online (provided by Informatica Systems Ltd) offers simple instructions and prompts to make sure that it is easy for you to book, view or cancel appointments – online – regardless of the time of day (or night).

Using the internet, you can search for and view a range of available appointments; then just book the one which is most convenient for you!

Appointments can be viewed and selected by doctor, location and type. Initially only surgery and telephone appointments with the doctor will be available. Other types of appointment will be introduced in the future.

Unfortunately some users have reported that this service is currently not supported by AOL.

Repeat Prescriptions Online

You can also make requests for repeat prescriptions without having to visit the Practice.

Login to Appointments Online and click the 'Repeat my medication' link on the right-hand-side menu. You will be able to see a list of agreed repeat prescriptions on screen and select repeat items required.

Choose the surgery branch where you wish to collect your prescription. Alternatively you can ask for your prescription to be sent to a ‘call house’ or select a pharmacy to collect it for you. Please allow 2 working days before collecting your prescription.

Getting Started

Before you can start booking appointments or use any other feature, you must first register your details with the Practice, so that you can be provided with a unique login username and password.

NOTE: Your personal information is kept safe and secure when using Appointments Online.

At the surgery, ask to register for Appointments Online. You will be given a unique username and password, along with details of how to gain access to the website.

If you are unable to attend the surgery due to disability please click here for a signup form.

Parents of children aged under 16 may request a username and password by using the under 16's signup form. Children aged 12 to 16 need to give their agreement and should also sign this form.

On your computer visit www.strensallmedical.com and click the link for Appointments Online.

Login – using the username and password with which you have been provided. Note: for security purposes, if the information is not accurately entered, you will not be allowed access.

You can now start using Appointments Online! Once logged in, you can book, view and cancel appointments. You can also make requests for repeat prescriptions.

When you book an appointment this way, you will receive confirmation immediately. There is no need to confirm it by phone or email – just make sure that you arrive promptly on the day!

Problems logging in

As an added security measure, if an incorrect password is entered more than 3 times, Appointments Online will lock your account. If this has happened, simply contact the surgery and we will unlock your account.

Many web browsers have a facility to remember your username & password. This can cause problems if your web browser has remembered the incorrect information.

Please note that the Online Appointments and Repeat Prescriptions service is currently not supported by AOL Explorer . You may, however, be able to overcome this problem on a Windows PC by logging into AOL Explorer, minimising it to the taskbar, and then starting Internet Explorer from the Windows Start menu. Navigate to www.strensallmedical.com using Internet Explorer and the Online Appointments service may now operate as expected.

Always check that your computer software is up-to-date. The latest version of AOL Explorer may prove to be more compatible with Appointments Online than previous versions.

Security

All personal information held on Appointments Online is protected using the highest standards of internet security.

To register for online appointments you will need to visit the surgery in person to be issued with a login and password. Housebound patients can be signed up after completing a request form.

You will not be able to use the system on behalf of another adult. We recommend that you keep your password secret and do not allow anyone else access to your account.

Additional safeguards are in place to protect the privacy of under 16s.
